Aliansi Remaja Independen (ARI) is a youth-led foundation established by and for young people aged 10–26 in Indonesia. Headquartered in Jakarta and active across 10 provinces, ARI operates as a non-political, non-partisan organization committed to advancing the rights, potential, and participation of Indonesia’s 66.4 million young people.
At the heart of our identity is a simple yet powerful belief: young people are not problems to be solved—they are partners, leaders, and changemakers.
A future where young people in Indonesia are equal, empowered, rights-respecting, responsible, and actively shaping every aspect of national development.
To empower young people through evidence-based programs and advocacy, while partnering with governments, civil society, and communities to ensure every young person can:
These Are Strategic Programs That Shape Our Mission
Providing assistance and Evidence based Advocacy to Stakeholders – Offering technical support and delivering data-driven advocacy to help stakeholders make informed policies and decisions.
Empowerment of Young People – Building young people’s capacity through skills development, leadership training, and opportunities that enable them to actively shape their communities.
Research and Evidence based Generation – Conducting systematic research to produce reliable evidence that guides programs, policy recommendations, and organizational strategies.
Meaningful Youth-adult Partnership – Creating collaborative spaces where youth and adults work as equal partners in decision-making, planning, and implementation of initiatives.

ARI’s programs are built on three pillars:
We ground every initiative in data. From mystery client studies assessing adolescent health services in Jakarta and Makassar, to participatory needs mapping in rural communities, we generate evidence that informs policy and practice — ensuring our work is not just impactful, but also measurable and replicable.
Far far away, behind the word mountains, far from the countries Vokalia and Consonantia, there live the blind texts. Separated they live in Bookmarksgrove right at the coast
We turn evidence into action by partnering with government ministries (Health, Education, Social Affairs), national NGOs (PKBI, PMI), international partners (PACT, ALIGN, Taiwan Embassy), and youth networks (APA, SYAN, GKIA). Our goal: ensure youth voices shape national policies — from village-level Musrenbangdes to Indonesia’s RPJPN.
The values consistently upheld by ARI for over 12 years
